Wanting a place to display records as they were being played, I used some spare 8/4 jatoba I had previously procured in making cutting boards, and I started slicing away.  With only a bit of an idea in mind, I carved a channel about 1-1/2 in. wide and 1/2 in. deep.  I’m a fan of elegant angles and chamfers. So a 45º bevel to the front and 70º to the sides completed the look of the base.  Adding in 1/4″ brass uprights completed the piece.  It’s a simple but sleek design utilizing the end grain curves to accentuate the record displayed all while drawing your attention to the album itself.

These are made-to-order and available in jatoba, walnut, and cherry.  If interested, reach out!
